September is Louisville’s International Heritage Month and the WorldFest event will start the celebration this Friday and Saturday. The festival is being held at the Belvedere and runs from 11:00am to 11:00pm on both August 31 and September 1, 2007. There will be constant entertainment on two stages, over twenty-five ethnic food vendors, and over sixty other exhibition booths.

There should be plenty of entertainment for the kids with the World of Children with free activities and entertainment on the Main Stage. The Fountain Stage, in the food court, will showcase acoustic and folk music of an international flair.

The annual WorldFest began in 2003 and now includes a naturalization ceremony on Friday at 10:30am, where over 300 people will be naturalized. On Saturday at 12:00pm the Parade of Cultures will commence with almost all cultures being represented by participants who will be wearing the traditional dress of people. There will also be a variety of international performances that will enhance the atmosphere of the parade. Check out the entertainment schedule for the whole event.

Admission is free and you can contact Celeste Espinoza de Verderosa at 502-619-2273 for more information.
