Mimi’s Cafe
I met a friend up at the new Mimi’s Café on Hurstborne Lane near Lowe’s and Barnes&Noble Bookstore last night for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is relatively new and I had not gotten a chance to eat there yet.
The atmosphere was very nice with comfortable booths and a décor that was reminiscent of New Orleans. We were waiting on promptly and a breadbasket that consisted of a small French loaf with butter and some delicious bread that tasted like it had pumpkin and raisins in it. It was very moist and tasty, and I would probably go back to Mimi’s just for that alone.
I ordered the seasonal Crab, Sweet Corn, & Asparagus Quiche, which was an individual quiche that was a very delightful blend of all the ingredients. It also came with a small side salad and a selection of fresh fruit. This was a perfect summer dinner choice, which was also quite healthy. Mimi’s offers a wonderful looking selection of desserts, but I was too full at that point to try any of them. My dinner came to $12 including tip and I thought this was a very good value for the food and service.
The menu at Mimi’s Café seems to be diverse and there were many items that I would like to try at another visit. If you are curious about the menu and prices you can check out their website at www.mimiscafe.com.
Mimi’s is open from 7am to 11pm everyday and servers breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
There is even a place on Mimi’s website that gives the recipes for five of their popular items.
Mimi’s also has a special program to help encourage academic and athletic achievement as well as positive attitudes in kids in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Teachers can request certificates of achievement or appreciation and wooden nickels from Mimi’s café that can be redeemed for a complimentary child’s meal.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating there again soon.

My office is located fairly close to there - but I’ve never tried Mimi’s Cafe. Thanks for the review - guess I need to add it to my list of new places to try for lunch. Thanks.
