Freddy Farm Bureau celebrated his 50th visit to the Kentucky State Fair this year.

We are right in the middle of August and the hottest weather of the year. My first recommendation for this weekend would be to stay cool and check out some of the many water attractions around the city. (see the 8/6/07 post)

The Kentucky State Fair is in full swing with many activities going on including the American Idols Live Tour on Friday at 8pm. Saturday night will features Trace Adkins at Freedom Hall and Saliva at Cardinal Stadium at 8pm, and the weekend will round out with the Oak Ridge Boys at 8pm on Sunday night. (see the 8/13/07 post)

If staying indoors and watching movies sounds like a good way to keep cool, you may want to stop by the Fright Night Film Fest that is being held this weekend at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center. This film festival will show over fifty selected independent horror films, followed by an awards banquet on Sunday at 7:30pm.

If you are more of a book than movie fan then head over to the book sale at Locust Grove. Thousand of new and used books will be on sale for just a couple of dollars each. It is being held in the auditorium from 10am to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday.

If you would rather listen to some classical music The Louisville Bach Society’s annual free summer concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.

Also don’t forget the Brides Against Breast Cancer (see the 8/14/07 post) and the Tux & Tails (see the 8/15/07 post) charity events this weekend.
